The coal yard tour further demonstrates the strong connection between the coal mining industry and the railroad. Visitors will walk into a reproduced coal yard environment and experience the work and life of miners. This section will reveal the key role coal mines played in the steam locomotive boom, and how steam locomotives depended on coal for energy. And the Roundhouse Museum is a truly fascinating highlight. This part retains the original garage and workshop features, and through exhibits and displays, visitors are shown every key stage in the development of German steam locomotive technology. From the early original design to the later innovation and improvement, visitors can learn about the evolution and innovation of steam locomotives along the timeline, as if they have experienced the entire process of technology.
