Australia's largest public model railway and the world's longest BRIO wooden train set The Bathurst Railway Museum is more than a regional transport museum; it is a community center that provides the city with access to its heritage. An active facility for all ages, the museum is housed within the historic, heritage-listed Railway Academy at Bathurst Railway Station. Here, visitors can explore Australia's largest public model railway and the world's longest BRIO wooden train set.

The heritage-listed building has been part of the Bathurst Association for over a hundred years, serving as a training facility and social club for NSW Rail's broad workforce.
Working with the city and local architects, FRD developed visitor experience projections, with both paid and free zones respecting the heritage architecture and history of the local people. Using stories from locals, celebrities and ordinary people, we develop a visitor experience that makes locals proud and aware of the region's rich heritage.
Kids Central is an interactive zone for kids that hopes to ignite a love for trains. Its central feature is the world's largest BRIO train layout, complete with hidden cameras so kids can see themselves on the big screen. Children can also play in the miniature refreshment room and on the Bathurst station platforms, which are designed and illustrated to resemble the heritage-listed Bathurst railway station. There are many elements to discover, such as hidden creatures, voice interactions, station timetables, and work phones. Bright and colorful illustrations of the No. 1 locomotive and the D50 class
locomotive and huge clouds fill the height of the space with natural light.
FRD has developed content and delivered a full suite of content including curatorial development content delivery including research writing, film production, production and installation, as well as advice to architects and other team professionals.
