Based on the original film, chezweitz's designs not only attempt to interpret Kubrick's thought world, but also provide insight into his work. The result is an exhibition building that immerses visitors directly in the film's cosmic space, both visually and contentally. Through in-depth analysis of the film, Chez Weitz developed design elements derived directly from film material. The colors of Kubrick's background, the circle of HAL 9000's red eye or the writing of the film create very unique scenes, placing a large number of original exhibits and props in the context of film history.

It is with pride and joy that we present to you the "INSPIRED BY 2001" exhibit, located on the ground floor of the museum, which forms the prelude to this exhibition. It was designed by students of the Frankfurt School of Communication and Design's sixth and seventh semesters in collaboration with chezweitz, the German Film Museum and the design studio 3deluxe.
