Houli Forest Park presents the environmental declaration of production, ecology and life balance (GNP Green, Nature, People) in a green primitive ecological environment. The "Discovery Hall", which occupies the largest area, invites the audience to follow in the footsteps of Taichung's mother river, Dajia River, to experience the altitude change from 0 to 3,886 meters, and to see the ecological beauty that is like a miniature half of the earth from each unique environmental story ! The curatorial team has cooperated with government officials, non-governmental conservation groups, and a number of cutting-edge artists to gain an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of Taiwan's flora and fauna and the local cultural history of Taichung through more than a year of field visits and research. The design of the exhibition area is composed of natural materials such as water, straw, paper, and wood. From the Gaomei Wetland at the outlet of Dajia River to the sea, through the low-altitude countryside and Lishan environment in Taichung, all the way up to the mountains and streams at medium and high altitudes, presenting different altitudes. The landscape features make the audience feel as if they are in the scene.

Come to the exhibition area at an altitude of 500-1,000 meters. Combining the expertise of stone tiger experts and the research results of the special biology center, the habitat environment of stone tigers is truly reproduced in the atrium, and the characteristics of stone tigers that are good at hiding in the wild are demonstrated with multimedia expression methods, allowing the audience Look for stone tiger traces here. The indoor area uses a large number of mirror installations to reflect the inseparable relationship between man and nature, to see the past that Shihu is connected to us, compare their broken present, and further think about the future of peaceful coexistence between man and nature.

Walking into the world at medium and high altitudes is like diving into Qijiawan Stream, the main tributary of the upper reaches of Dajia River, wandering in the habitat of cherry hooked salmon. The exhibition space creates an underwater scene through multi-layered gauze projection special effects, making the giant national treasure fish flickering around the audience, and then exploring the growth story of the cherry blossom salmon.

The temperature of the mountain forest space exhibition area at the same altitude as the cherry hooked salmon dropped suddenly, and the towering alpine forest greeted the eyes. This artificial thinning forest land conforms to the conservation ecology, and restored the forest appearance of Taiwan fir. The audience can step on the larch needles on the ground and shuttle between the alpine virgin forests. In the highlight area, you can see the alpine native species and feel the beauty of the snow-capped mountains.

At the end of the Discovery Hall, the curatorial team also set up an 18-meter-long curved surface projection art to present the Dajia River landscape from the perspective of protozoa such as little egrets, mudskippers, stone tigers, and cherry-blossom salmon. The ground has undergone particle design and scientific calculations, allowing viewers to interact with the water flow on the ground through their steps. As the perspective of animals climbs from the horizon to the highest altitude, you can feel the insignificance and preciousness of life in the universe.
