Working closely with ABB's global customer experience and innovation team in Zurich, we devised a modular approach that supports a new generation of customer experience centers that rethink how spaces can enhance collaboration and creativity. The first instance of the concept resides permanently at ABB's Corporate Research Center in Ladenburg, Germany, and also hosts the ABB Global Customer Conference in Houston. These initial installations are just the beginning of a multi-year effort by ABB's customer experience team to establish similar centers around the world.

The Disruptors exhibition succinctly explains cutting-edge innovation challenges and demonstrates how a range of disruptors are impacting the world - turning visitors into instant experts and demonstrating ABB's ability to guide businesses and industries through uncertain territory. The ever-changing metaphor of the terrain is manifested through a dynamic table with 84 individual electronic actuators and LED panels that form a moving surface that catches the guest's eye. News headlines and videos related to 14 different industry disruptors scrolled across the screen. Visitors can delve deeper into any of the 14 themes via an adjacent iPad.

At the virtual reality booth, we used our existing ABB VR software catalog to create a smooth experience for ABB training demos, software prototypes developed in the Experience Center and other content curated by ABB employees. By placing high-performance PCs, Oculus Rift and VIVE headsets at each site, we ensured compatibility with the entire ABB VR product catalog. A unique "wrap-around" screen configuration makes VR content more immersive for onlookers.
